Working with the Department for Transport

We are working together with the Department for Transport (DfT), for our customers and communities, and UK taxpayers; to ensure we deliver on our part of the HS2 programme.

The DfT sets the strategic direction for the rail industry which aligns to wider governmental policy. As the funder and sponsor for HS2, they make decisions around what the railway service will look and feel like for our customers. Our role at WCPD is to advise and support the DfT and Secretary of State by making recommendations around the future service.
